Fall Recruitment 2017
Orientation: September 6th
Orientation will take place in the Speaker's Auditorium for you to learn about the recruitment process and what will come in the next few days. You will meet your recruitment counselor, affectionally known as your Pi Chi, and the girls in your recruitment group. Be sure to take the time to get to know these girls. They could be in your future new member class!
Open House: September 8th
You will be able to meet each chapter for the first time and receive your first glimpse into the place you may one day call home. Each chapter will explain their philanthropy and tell you how they get involved throughout the year. What better way to learn more about your potential sisters?
General Advice: Ask the sisters any questions you have about the sorority or Greek life in general and make sure you tell the sisters about yourself as well; they need to get to know you as much as you need to know them! Maintain a positive outlook and do not set your mind on one chapter. Keeping an open mind is the best way to ensure that you go to the chapter where you are happiest!
Sisterhood Day: September 9th
Sisterhood day will be a more eye opening experience about what makes each chapter special. This is one of our favorite days during recruitment here at Alpha Xi Delta because we pride ourselves on having a strong sisterhood and it gives us the chance share that with you. Sisterhood day should give you a better idea of where you would like to call home for the next four years.
General Advice: The atmosphere is much more personal; ask any lingering questions you might still have about the sorority and its members. Trust your feelings and begin thinking about which chapter you feel you would fit in best. Consider where you feel most comfortable, and do not rely on the opinions of others.
Preference Day: September 10th
Preference parties are the last parties before bid night and are more serious than the other days throughout the weekend. Each chapter will express how their sisterhood has changed their lives and what it means to belong to their sisterhood, so don’t be surprised if you see tears! Although emotions may be running high, everyone will be waiting with smiling faces and open arms to greet you on Bid Night!
General Advice: Preference Night is very special to the sisters of each chapter. It is this night that we will have the opportunity to share with you why we chose our sorority and why it is so important to us. Pay attention to how you feel during this and use your instincts to help chose the sisterhood that you can see yourself entering into as a lifelong member.
